About this space:
This lovely little cottage is so sweet, that we named her "Sweet Caroline". This cozy and unique cottage will make you feel like you never want to leave. Surrounded by horse trails and trees that are filled with singing birds & also beautiful peace & quiet. Take a stroll to our other Airbnb’s to visit our horses and cows or walk our trails down to our main house where you can visit our mini farm with goats, mini horses, chickens, & even a tortoise. (Closed shoes & appointment required).
The cottage is cozy, but has a wonderful open concept. No more than 4 people can occupy this space because of its size, and one of the beds is a top bunk so consider that when booking. It is ideal for a small family (two adults and two children), a girlfriend weekend, or a romantic get away for a couple. Four large adults might find that it is just too small a space to share.
Guest access:
Please park in the car port to unload. There will be a code box at the side door with the keys inside. You will be provided the code the day before you check in.
Other things to note:
Because of the size of the cottage we only allow one small to medium sized dog. There is a one time $75 fee for your pet, no matter how wonderful you tell me he or she is. No Cats allowed, we are sorry, but too many guests have allergies.
Our limit of 4 occupants is strictly enforced.
No smoking is allowed inside, no exceptions. If you smoke outside, please make sure the doors are closed so that no smoke will come inside.
We also have an outdoor fire pit, and we will supply you with wood, you might have to gather your own kindling, but there are plenty of trees all around you.
REMEMBER, we are off the beaten path, so be sure to do your food shopping before you come, or soon after.
NO ONE delivers out here. We provide a starter kit for items: (2) trash bags (2) laundry pods (2), dishwasher pods (2), (1) Paper Towel (2) Toilet Papers. We also provide coffee, tea and non-dairy creamer, most major spices, oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Our kitchen is fully stocked with everything you have at home. There also is a have a drip coffee maker as well as a French press and small Chemex. Coffee filters are also provided.
We are about 15 minutes from downtown Aiken, where you will find unique shops and fabulous restaurants and about 15-20 minutes from Whisky Road, where you will find big box stores like Walmart, Publix, Target, Home Depot, Cracker Barrel, CVS, etc. There is also a Starbucks on Whisky Road. Check Yelp, for reviews and more options for shopping and dining. (We also leave some recommendations in our welcome pamphlet).
To visit the petting zoo, you MUST make an appointment with us. The hours to visit are usually early morning during our feeding time between 7:30am-8:30am. (Closed shoes are required, and your dog must be on a leash). You can also walk our trails and visit our horses and cows next door on either side.... (No appointment needed to visit them, just don't feed too many treats). Caution, the cows have an electric fence so stay back or get a zap.
